Keeping with the b-boy vibe following my rediscovery of DJ DSK, a friend just sent me this clip of The Cuban Brothers breakdancing in Edinburgh last year. It’s bloody amazing.
It’s also quite apt, not just because of the fact that Nick used to breakdance at the drop of a hat, but because I went to a few hip-hop gigs with him when we were in Sydney and some of the dancers blew my mind. Anyone who says that this isn’t an extremely skillful discipline has never seen live breakdancing.
In fact, there are plenty of amazing b-boys in the UK, so what say we start the campaign to have breakdancing as one of our exhibition sports at London 2012?
B-boy is definitely moving more mainstream dance these days – with things like the http://www.breakinconvention.com/ its combining all forms of dance – some of them are amazing! (having been to see them live) frank 2 louise are amazing http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=JeO_pSDNbf8
