(Another) Soundtrack To My Life

I just had a comment pop-up on a post on my old Sample as that blog: the post was the one from a couple of years back about the meme where you put iTunes on shuffle and use it to create a soundtrack for your life. As 2008 has been quite a momentous year for me I thought I’d re-run it to see if iTunes has anything to say about my life at this point in time (hey, it’s Sunday & I’m killing time before I head to a mate’s).

If your life were a soundtrack, what would the music be?
1. Open your library (iTunes, winamp, media player, Zen, iPod)
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For every question, type the name of whatever song comes up
5. New question—press the next button6. don’t lie and try to pretend you’re cool

There’s some interesting ones here: most Portishead songs sound like the musical equivalents of breakdowns, a wedding soundtracked by a tune called Over You probably wouldn’t be the most auspicious one, I reckon Venice would be a lovely place to be reunited with someone whilst a love scene where the song title translates as Yes We Can has to be a positive one.

If you’re bored and fancy giving it a go, put your results in the comments. Here’s Glory Box whilst you think about it.

Interesting…without cheating. I like the ‘Love myself better than you’ lyric with “On a Plain” – which is meant to be the ‘Falling in Love’ track. LOL.

Ricky Gervais podcast from xfm in the background for ‘Life’s ok’ is pretty cool. Especially as they’re starting the show talking about posters of butt-plugs.

The lyrics for NiN “Getting Smaller” for ‘Breakdown’ track is tooo perfect.

“Public Pervert” while ‘Driving’ could be a little suspicious. Especially if cruising at curb crawling speed.

“Sour Times” to ‘Getting Back Together’. Ironic. ‘nobody loves me. it’s true. not like you do’.

How amusing is “Destroy Everything You Touch” for the ‘Birth of Child’ track. My kids pretty much do that!

‘Death Track’. This track almost points to Hell being the new Heaven in this context.

A good way to waste some time on Xmas Eve morning. May I propose next time around some further ‘scene’ is added…’Gratuitous Steamy/Kinky Sex Scene’.
